Wencker-Wildberg, Friedrich (1944):
Die Dunkelgräfin.
In: Rätsel der Weltgeschichte, page 124-167.
August Scherl Nachfolger - Berlin Content:
The author criticizes the theory, that the Dark Countess of Hildburghausen
was the Madame Royale. He explains, that there are too many unclear points and
missing proofs, e.g. for the pregnancy of Madame Royale in the Temple, the
substitution by Ernestine Lambriquet in Huningue, the behaviour and the
motives of Louis XVIII and the supposedly difference between the portraits
of the Madame Royale and the later Duchess of Angoulême. For him, a
substitution is erroneous and did never happened.
