Author Guido Dieckmann describes in his novel about Marie Thérèse Charlotte the life of the last princess of France. In a literary adaptation of the subject he shows the events in Versailles from 1788 to 1797. A central point of the novel is the relation of Madame Royale to her half-sister Ernestine de Lambriquet, with whom she experiences the revolution, the move in the Tuileries and the capture in the Temple. Very clearly the author shows the situation of the prisoner which is violated of the guard "Bastien" after the death of her family. In 1795 she was substituted in Hüningen by Ernestine on account of her pregnancy. While Ernestine gets to the Vienna, Madame Royale comes at Castle Heidegg in Switzerland to bring there the child to the world. Van of the Valck is a friend of count Axel von Fersen and supports Madame Royale. In the end, with him Madame Royale moves to Hildburghausen and Eishausen.

To the type of a novel it is owed that the author decorates, changes and invents historical events and persons. Thus he lays e.g. the arrival of Van der Valck and his woman in Hildburghausen in the year 1796. Also names of historical persons are changed. Thus becomes the cook "Johanna Weber" to "Caroline Weber". Regrettably, the author gives not all sources which he has used for his novel.

Ein bewegender Roman um die Frau mit den Seidenaugen, die als sagenumwobene Dunkelgräfin in die Geschichte einging.
