Daudet gives a biography about Madame Royale which concentrates
upon the time by her birth in 1778 up to her marriage in 1799. She
originated in support of his book "Histoire de l'émigration"
from the year 1912. Daudet supports his statements, above all, on the
correspondence between Madame Royale and Louis XVIII between 1795 and
1799, which he found on the recordings of La Fares (the representative of
Louis XVIII at the court of Vienna). In detail he describes the intensive
and laborious marriage negotiations around the French princess.
